ABB and Raumaster Paper Partner to Enhance Winder Solutions
ABB and Raumaster Paper have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop integrated winder solutions for the North American market. This strategic partnership combines ABB’s leading expertise in automation, system drives, and digitalization with Raumaster Paper’s extensive experience in paper mill finishing equipment. The collaboration aims to help mills improve operational efficiency and extend the lifecycle of their existing machinery through targeted modernization rather than costly full-system replacements.
The joint solutions will standardize winder drive controls, machine control systems, and safety features. By integrating Raumaster Paper’s proven winder technology with ABB’s advanced automation ecosystem, including ABB Ability System 800xA®, motors, and drives, the partnership will deliver a seamless and efficient package for operators. This approach will lead to reduced commissioning times, streamlined operations, and enhanced safety, providing a practical and cost-effective path for mills to modernize aging assets.
